David Lord is the owner and founder of Dibs on Bottom Dive Center, where his passion for diving, exploration, and the ocean has grown into a full-time way of life. David first became interested in diving after spending years around the water and became fascinated by everything happening just beneath the surface. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit of finding new dive sites, learning about marine life, and spending as much time underwater as possible.

Over the years, David has explored the waters surrounding Bear Island and the nearby coastline, developing a strong appreciation for the area's mix of rocky reefs, kelp-covered ledges, sheltered coves, and deeper offshore terrain. He enjoys the challenge of reading the tides, watching weather patterns, and finding the right conditions for each dive. David is just as happy exploring a quiet shallow reef as he is heading farther offshore in search of something new. He believes some of the best dive experiences come from slowing down, looking closely, and giving yourself time to see what the underwater world has to offer.

David created Dibs on Bottom to be more than just a place to book a dive. He wanted to build a dive center where people could come together, share stories, learn from one another, and discover new parts of the coastline. His approach is relaxed and straightforward, with an emphasis on safe diving, good equipment, local knowledge, and making every trip enjoyable. Whether someone is getting comfortable in the water for the first time or has years of experience and is looking for their next dive site, David enjoys helping people get the most out of their time underwater.

When he is not out on the boat, David spends his time planning future trips, checking local conditions, maintaining equipment, and keeping up with the changing dive sites around Bear Island. He is always looking for another reef to explore, another cove to investigate, or another piece of underwater terrain that has not received enough attention. For David, there is always another dive waiting just below the surface.
